What’s a Typical Day at Kum-Ba-Yah?
Campers arrive each morning to counselors waiting to greet them.
We open each day singing camp songs, and pursue a range of activities designed as physical and mental challenges. Campers cook their own lunches over a campfire they build together. Children 9 and older participate in special team-building and leadership training programs. At the close of each day, campers join in a friendship circle, sing and head home tired, happy, and full of good memories.
From beginners to advanced, CKBY offers structured swimming lessons, and free-swim time every day of camp.
Arts & Crafts
Campers learn how to tie-dye t-shirts, make art from nature (bird-house gourds, anyone?) and leave camp with their own pottery.
Extraordinary outdoor adventure for all ages.
Experience BOTH low and high ropes courseS, team-building exercises, or a zip-line. campers 9 and up, can try our Leap for Life, the 35-foot climbing wall, and the Postman’s Walk.
Are you ready for adrenaline?
Garden & Earth Education
Master the art of identifying native plants and trees, test the camp pond’s water, learn how to make the Earth a better place, and get dirty in the garden, while trying out new recipes and learning where food comes from (hint: not the shelf at the grocery store.)
