Addison’s Amphitheater
A Space For All To Gather
Preserving Addison’s Story at Camp
Addison’s Amphitheater preserves the story of a remarkable and beloved young woman, creating a place for campers and the community to gather at Camp Kum-Ba-Yah Nature Center. Construction of the main amphitheater structure was completed in early 2025 and is already serving both summer and year-round visitors to CKBY’s wooded campus.
The final phases of construction will add restrooms, concessions, lighting, and ease of access, providing a unique and tranquil setting for old friends and new to find their place in the woods.
To designate gifts towards finishing touches on Addison’s Amphitheater, please indicate so on the check memo or comments section of the online donation page. For assistance or questions, contact Kyle Simpson - Executive Director - director@ckby.org or 434-515-2225. Thank you!
Next Steps
Construction of the main amphitheater stage and seating area was completed by Jamerson-Lewis Construction in early 2025 and enhanced through work by Shrader Stone later in the year.
Plans for the adjacent restrooms and concessions building have been finalized and work is expected to begin in 2026 with a community build kickoff event.
We are deeply grateful for the many friends of CKBY and the Morgan Family who have generously supported this special project and look forward to sharing updates, completing finishing touches, and formally dedicating Addison’s Amphitheater in the months ahead.
