2:00 to 4:00 pm
The Ripple of Inclusion: 65 Years, 75 Summers, 100 Years of Bev Cosby brings our community together to honor a landmark year in the history of Camp Kum‑Ba‑Yah. This special program features the award‑winning student film created by Sydney Huffman and Adalyn Sheaffer, whose documentary on the 1961 pool integration earned top honors locally and statewide and will compete at the National History Day competition this summer. The event will also include reflections from Randy Nelson, who was in the pool the day integration occurred, along with additional community voices who will help illuminate the legacy and impact of that historic summer. Together, these stories highlight the courage, leadership, and enduring mission that have shaped 75 summers of camp and continue to ripple through Lynchburg today.
This event will be free, but registration is required.
