Now Hiring: Assistant Director of Summer Operations
Camp Kum‑Ba‑Yah Nature Center is pleased to announce a search for a new Assistant Director of Summer Operations. This position represents an investment in the future of camp as we continue to strengthen our programs, support our staff, and serve more children and families in the years ahead.
This year, Camp Kum‑Ba‑Yah celebrated its 75th summer season. More and more families are seeking the opportunities for growth, friendship, and outdoor learning that camp provides. As we look toward the future and work to serve more children in the years ahead, we are investing in the people and leadership needed to support that growth, beginning with the creation of this new position.
The Assistant Director of Summer Operations will work closely with our Programs Director to help recruit, train, support, and supervise the seasonal staff who make camp possible. From helping prepare for the summer season to supporting counselors, coordinating schedules, and fostering a positive camp culture, this role will play an important part in creating meaningful experiences for hundreds of children each year.
The successful candidate may come from a variety of backgrounds, including education, outdoor recreation, youth development, nonprofit leadership, or summer camp programs. Former campers, camp parents, educators, and individuals with experience serving children and families are encouraged to consider the opportunity. Above all, we are seeking someone who is excited about working with children, supporting staff, and helping strengthen the camp experience.
Summer employment in this role is full-time during the camp season, with the possibility of part-time or full-time year-round opportunities depending on organizational needs and the interests of the successful candidate. Compensation begins at $20 per hour.
If this position sounds like a good fit for you, or if you know someone who may be interested, we would love to hear from you. We welcome both formal applications and informal conversations as we seek the right person to join our team.
